BMW’s Marco Wittmann recently won the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, or German Touring Car Masters in English) Driver Championship, with BMW also capturing the Team Championship (though unfortunately they were unable to sweep the three titles, with Audi claiming the Manufacturer Championship). This season in the DTM, BMW won 5 races, had 11 podiums, four pole positions, and four fastest laps. Since their DTM comeback in 2012 they have won six of nine titles, 15 of 30 races, and 13 of 30 pole positions. In order to celebrate their success, including the title win, and as a tribute to Wittman, BMW has announced the BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition.Only 23 of the Champion Edition M4s will be built (and unfortunately none of them will be sold here), reflecting Wittman’s car number. The model will be offered exclusively in Alpine White, with a matte-black hood and trunk. The car receives 19 inch light-alloy wheels, a black front splitter, black side skirt blade, carbon front flaps, carbon mirror caps, a rear spoiler, and a carbon diffuser insert from the M Performance Parts range. The car also features an M kidney grill with an orange surround, an M logo behind the front wheel arches, the number 23 on the doors, and the flag along with “WIT” and “DTM Champion 2014” on the rear side windows. On the inside of the M4 the door sill plates display Marco Wittman’s autograph while carbon interior trim strips are also autographed and feature the “DTM Champion 2014” lettering and the car’s serial number. Performance hasn’t been upgraded, with 0-62 miles per hour taking 4.1 seconds, the same as the standard M4.In addition to the honor of having a road-legal version of his DTM race car, BMW Motorsport also extended Marco Wittmann’s contract and provided him with the opportunity to drive a Formula One car, testing for the Scuderia Toro Rosso team.

CODE=BBTCH0825
