The Real Car
The real-life McLaren 720S Gulf Edition was presented in May 2021 and is an official factory project. It is a street car and therefore not a race car with a starting number.
The car was built by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) (the brand's personalization department) in celebration of the renewed partnership between McLaren and Gulf Oil.
What makes the real car so special?
Fully hand-sprayed: No stickers have been used. The legendary baby blue and orange, in collaboration with paint partner AkzoNobel, is fully applied to the car by hand. The paint process of a single car cost the MSO professionals no less than 20 days of work.
Gulf details in the interior: The familiar orange and blue details pull through throughout the car. The interior features blue/orange stitching, Gulf logos embroidered on the headrests and a striking orange marking stripe on the 12-hour position of the carbon steering wheel.
Exclusivity: The Gulf paint set was offered as a pepper-expensive factory package exclusively to a very select number of wealthy McLaren customers.

Under the iconic Gulf paint, the technique is equal to the standard McLaren 720S:
Engine: 4.0 liter Twin-Turbo V8
