The Porsche 911 (996) GT3R with starting number #33, sponsored by A-Ha (A-ha Coffee), is the iconic race car with which British driver Matthew Marsh became champion in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia (PCCA) in 2004. Marsh took the overall title in this prestigious Asian championship after a fierce battle with his teammate and close friend Charles Kwan.
Because of this historic championship, the car has become a very popular object among collectors of scale models.

The Real Car
The real race car behind the scale models is a purpose-built Porsche 911 (996) GT3 Cup, deployed by the A-Ha Racing team during the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia season of 2004.
Although model car manufacturer AUTOart released the car at the time under the name "GT3R" (a type designation that Porsche used at the time for the more extreme endurance cars in the FIA GT classes), the Carrera Cup Asia drove entirely according to the official brand cup specifications of the 996 GT3 Cup at the time.
Specifications of the real car
Unlike a street car, this is a factory stripped race car, built directly by Porsche Motorsport in Weissach:
Engine: A rear 3.6-litre water-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine (the legendary 'Mezger' engine).
Power: Approximately 381 to 390 hp (depending on fuel and cup specifications in 2004).
Weight: Only 1,150 kg. The car has no insulation, no airbags, no air conditioning or other luxury on board to keep the weight as low as possible.
Transmission: A six-speed manual transmission that sends the power entirely to the rear wheels.
Interior: Fully equipped for the circuit with a welded roll cage, a single bucket seat with a six-point belt and a built-in fire extinguishing system.
Sponsor
The striking brown-and-yellow color scheme is derived directly from the main sponsor of the time: A-Ha Coffee, a popular coffee chain in Asia at the time. This made Matthew Marsh's car one of the most recognizable appearances on circuits such as Sepang (Malaysia), Zhuhai (China) and Macau.
With this car Marsh managed to drag into the coveted Asian title in 2004 after a nerve-wracking season.
