The Slotcar
The Ninco Porsche 356A Coupé #11 (Reference number 50178) is a classic and popular slotcar on a scale of 1:32. This miniature model stands out for its detailed finish in the colours silver and burgundy. The car is designed to drive on all standard analog racetracks (such as Scalextric or Ninco).

Ninco Classics is a specific line of cars issued by Ninco in 1995 focused on older classics from before 1960, like the Ferrari 166, Jaguar XK, Austin Healey and Porsche 356A.

Released in 1999 by the Spanish manufacturer NINCO, this sought-after collectible is a detailed replica of the iconic silver Porsche 356A Coupé, recognizable by the starting number 11 and the distinctive burgundy striping over the length of the car.

Current Market Value & Availability
Because the model has been out of production for a long time, the price varies greatly based on the state (new in box versus used) and the platform.

The Real Car
The real Porsche 356A Coupé (produced between 1955 and 1959) is one of the most important cars in Porsche's history. It was the model with which the brand finally matured.

Although the specific silver-grey version with Ninco's double burgundy stripes and start number #11 is a typical 'period-correct' rally or club racing look (inspired by legendary amateur and factory drivers of the time), the technical specifications and historical performance of the real car are impressive:
Technical Specifications (1955–1959)

Engine: Rear-mounted, air-cooled 4-cylinder boxer engine (derived from the early Volkswagen design, but heavily modified by Porsche).

Cylinder capacity: Usually equipped with a 1600 cc motor (the '1600' or the more powerful '1600 Super'). There was also a rare, complex 'Carrera' racer with a Fuhrmann engine with four camshafts.

Power: Ranged from 60 hp for the standard 1600 to 75 hp for the Super, and 100+ hp for the Carrera racing versions.

Weight: Only about 850 kg. Thanks to this extremely low weight, the car was surprisingly fast and manoeuvrable before its time.
Top speed: Approximately 160 to 175 km/h (depending on the engine version).

Motorsport & The "Giant Killer" Status
The real Porsche 356A was a phenomenon on the track and in rallies. Because the car was much lighter and had a better road holding than the then much larger, heavier American and British sports cars, the 356 was nicknamed "Giant Killer." The car achieved numerous class victories in legendary races such as:

The 24 Hours of Le Mans
The Mille Miglia in Italy
The heavy Carrera Panamericana in Mexico

Value of the Real Car
Where the slotcar is a popular collectible, the real Porsche 356A Coupé has become an absolute 'blue-chip' classic. A copy in the iconic Silver Metallic factory colour with a red interior (the inspiration for the color scheme of the Ninco model) is very sought after.

Depending on the condition of the restoration, originality (matching numbers) and history, the prices for a real 356A Coupé are nowadays between €100,000 and € 180,000. The rare race-oriented Carrera GT versions often produce a multitude of these at auctions
